Keiser University Ranked One of Nation’s Best Colleges for Hispanic Students

Keiser University was recently named among the best colleges and universities in the U.S for its exemplary work providing resources and strategies to help Hispanic students succeed. BestColleges, the online organization that named Keiser University No. 12 on their 2021 Top Colleges for Hispanic Students ranking, compiled their list from both public and private schools in the U.S.

When creating the ranking, BestColleges used existing data to identify schools that excelled academically and then compared that list to the 299 registered Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) in the U.S.

Their methodology enlisted the help of a ranking team from BestColleges that compared academic quality, affordability, and online competency. Their rankings for 2021 reflect data available from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System and College Navigator, both of which are hosted by the National Center for Education Statistics.

Keiser University, a member of HACU, is designated as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI). According to the BestColleges 2021 rankings, Keiser’s locations in Florida “provides a culturally rich setting with a significant Hispanic population.”

With nearly a 30% Hispanic or Latino population at Keiser University, students have access to a number of clubs and organizations that encourage them to engage with Hispanic history and culture. Florida has the United States’ third-largest population of Hispanic residents with 5.7 million. The 2020 U.S. Census results identify that 26.4% of Floridians identify as Hispanic or Latino.

Keiser offers 20 academic degrees in Spanish, including nine advanced and terminal degrees, and is one of only 21 colleges in Florida designated as a HSI by the U.S. Department of Education, and one of only 10 private universities in Florida to carry the designation.
