KU Jacksonville Campus Instructor Assists in Freeing Two Men Wrongly Accused
Thomas Brady, a Keiser University Jacksonville campus Forensic Investigation and Crime Scene Technology instructor and expert in his field, recently assisted in freeing two men wrongly convicted of a murder over 43 years ago.
Using skills gained from his former careers as a Forensic Consultant and Criminal Investigator with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service and as a private Forensic Consultant, Brady worked with the Conviction Integrity Review Division of the 4th Circuit State Attorney’s Office to assist with crime scene reconstruction that used the interpretation of wound dynamics, physical evidence, event analysis and shooting incident reconstruction to relay a different shooting position, and ultimately, a different shooter identification. Experimentation was also conducted to support auditory witness accounts of hearing gunshots outside versus inside a residence.
Keiser University’s Jacksonville is thankful for its community partnership with the State Attorney’s Office, which provides guest speakers and also serves as an externship site for students.
