Tiger’s Comeback: Keiser University College of Golf Professor and Student Share Thoughts With ABC Viewers

Wilson’s points included:

*Tiger is working without a coach for the first time in recent memory

*He seems to be allowing his natural talent to guide his golf game

*His swing transition is much more synchronized; he isn’t hurrying

*He is swinging much more in control and is extremely balanced

*He has achieved one of the greatest comebacks in sports history

*It will be interesting to see him in the Ryder Cup this weekend

*Comebacks such as Tiger’s make the game of golf more interesting for everyone

*It will be interesting to see how Tiger’s body holds up within the next couple of years

On the KU Flagship Campus, the KU College of Golf and Sport Management offers a 1,500-square-foot indoor training facility, which includes a putting area, advanced launch monitor technology, V-1 and Swing Guru video analysis systems, an interactive golf simulator powered by Sports Coach Systems, a Motion Analysis Technology by TaylorMade (MAT-T), a 3-D swing analysis system, and a golf club repair lab equipped by Mitchell Golf Equipment, Keiser University’s PGA-credentialed faculty are available to College of Golf students for individual and group instruction, and those same faculty are available to assist the Seahawk intercollegiate squads improve their golf skills.

In addition to the indoor facility, students also have access to a 6 acre outdoor, on-campus golf range facility with 12 hitting stations, a 9,000 square foot putting green, and a 14,000 square foot chipping/pitching/bunker green. Keiser’s Associate and Bachelor of Science degrees in Golf Management prepare students for a wide variety of positions in the golf industry.

The programs provide students the educational background and training to provide golf instruction, manage golf course operations, ensure proper maintenance of golf facilities and equipment, as well as how to incorporate the play of golf into the broader hospitality and recreation domain. “As more parents and students discover the exciting education and golf programming we offer at Keiser University, it will only help us give back to the community, build relationships, and create opportunity for our students and alumni through the wonderful game of golf,” said John McMurry, Keiser University Flagship Campus Vice President.

The governing body for collegiate club golf, the NCCGA, provides a competitive outlet for college students not playing varsity golf in college. More than 250 colleges have official NCCGA Club Golf Teams, including Ohio State, Notre Dame, Michigan, Georgia, and UCLA.
