Inspired by Healthcare Professionals as a Teen, Keiser University Graduate Returns to Share Insights as a Professional in the Field

Keiser University’s Sarasota campus recently welcomed alumnus Jon Minton back into the classroom to share his industry experience.

A 2011 Radiologic Technology graduate, Minton shared that after ten years of working in different aspects of the industry, he’s found that providing mobile radiological imaging services is the ideal career focus. First introduced to the occupation as a teen when his father was experiencing medical challenges, Minton is now thankful to return to the classroom to encourage students to interact with a variety of field leaders while investigating the roles they can serve within the profession.

“Work hard and try all the different aspects of the field and see where the best fit is for you as you learn as much as possible. Networking throughout one’s career is some of the best advice I was given,” he said.

Keiser University’s Associate of Science degree in Radiologic Technology prepares students for entry-level positions in the profession, producing radiographic images in accordance with standardized practices and procedures.  The program provides radiologic information including medical terminology, patient care, radiographic procedures, radiation protection, equipment operations, and image production and evaluation. The program’s graduates are eligible to take the national certification examination administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and are eligible to be licensed by the State of Florida to practice Radiologic Technology.
