Keiser University Nursing Students Enjoy Interactive Lessons

Keiser University Flagship campus Nursing program students are actively participating in instructional activities that reinforce important material, concepts, and skills, thanks to knowledgeable instructional staff members including professor Dr. Dorean McLaughlin.

In addition to simulation lab experience, the  learners enjoy interactive dialogues of diverse lecture topics which are designed to create lasting memories for easy recall during testing and beyond the educational realm as they enter the healthcare world as professionals.

One recent scenario emphasized the importance of the intensive care unit as each learner was assigned a role in portraying its vital features. “Rather than passively studying a slide, this active form of learning increases engagement and improves our critical thinking skills,” said McLaughlin who was attracted to Keiser University due to its ‘students first’ philosophy, its small class sizes, and high level of commitment to the nursing profession. “As we face unprecedented challenges due to COVID19, I encourage those who are pursuing or considering a career in the field to move forward with their goals. The demand is high for those dedicated to providing quality care, and together we can make a difference,” she said.

The Keiser University College of Nursing offers several associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral nursing degrees that empower students with critical skills that are highly in demand in today’s healthcare landscape.
