Keiser University’s Port St. Lucie Campus supports The Humane Society of the Treasure Coast

Keiser University’s Port St. Lucie campus Seahawk Spirit Day recently held special meaning for animal lovers.

In addition to participation in the ‘dress down’ day, faculty, staff, and students raised funds for furry friends at The Humane Society of the Treasure Coast, and held a pet adoption in which a kitten found its forever home.

Thanks to the effort, Leslie Haviland, Director of Student Services and Linda Fitzpatrick, Director of Community and Business Development presented Courtney Zanetti, the Humane Society’s Director of Community Outreach with a check for $275.

Founded in 1955, the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast (HSTC) is the only open access, no-kill animal welfare organization operating in Martin County. With 3,000 animals being rehomed annually through aggressive adoption programs and other services, HSTC has joined leading shelters around the state and country as a model organization for lifesaving culture change.
