Students Gain Valuable Life Support Training Insights

Keiser University Diagnostic Medical Sonography and Radiologic Technology program students recently delved into basic life support techniques thanks to the expertise of Paramedic and Instructor Joseph Passemor of Central Florida Health and Safety.

Led by instructors Lisa Menzel and Laura Nash the introductory class students were thankful to gain valuable skills required to aid both adults and children in crisis.  Based in Lakeland Florida, Central Florida Health and Safety is an approved American Heart Association training company that prides itself on making training easy and enjoyable.  Established in 1997, it provides a wide variety of training courses, safety services, and programs.

Keiser University’s Associate of Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography presents an integration of didactic, laboratory and clinical experiences.  The program prepares students to function as entry-level diagnostic medical sonographers.  Sonographers are highly skilled professionals qualified to provide patient services using diagnostic techniques under the supervision of a licensed doctor of medicine or osteopathy and assist physicians in gathering data necessary to reach diagnostic decisions. In addition, Keiser University’s Radiologic Technology program prepares students for entry-level positions in the profession, producing radiographic images in accordance with standardized practices and procedures.  The program provides radiologic information including medical terminology, patient care, radiographic procedures, radiation protection, equipment operations and image production and evaluation.

Keiser University is a private, not-for-profit university, serving nearly 20,000 students and employing 2,900 faculty and staff members.
