Keiser University’s Daytona Beach Campus recently celebrated Black Excellence at a Black History Month dinner and ceremony.

After welcoming the Progressive Black Men of Bethune-Cookman University to the event as escorts, Keiser University leaders asked their distinguished guests, Vice Mayor John Rogers and City Manager Dr. Alvin B. Jackson Jr. from the City of Bunnell to recite the City of Daytona Beach’s proclamation courtesy of city leaders. Dr. Primrose Cameron, a renowned motivational speaker and book author, then highlighted the importance and value of having a “Stone of Hope,”  by relaying the analogy that like communities, a stone is always related to something larger, and like stones ‘we are all connected to something larger.’

The program committee chair was Mrs. Sherisia Darby-Owens, KU Reentry Admissions Counselor, and over 120 guests attended the event, including Keiser University coeds and area high school students who received awards for Perseverance, Leadership, Community Service, and more.
